Former MLA Baijnath Rawat has been made the chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Caste and Tribe Commission. Apart from this, Narendra Khajuri, close to RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary, has also been made a member of the commission.
Former MLA Bechan Ram and Jeet Singh Kharwar have been made the vice-chairman of the commission. Baijnath Rawat of Barabanki belongs to the Scheduled Caste. He was a contender for the ticket from Barabanki Lok Sabha constituency in the Lok Sabha elections . These names have been announced after the consent of the Governor. 3 women have also been given place in the commission.

Apart from this, Harendra Jatav from Meerut, Mahipal Valmiki from Saharanpur, Sanjay Singh from Bareilly, Dinesh Bharat from Agra, Shivnarayan Sonkar from Hamirpur, Neeraj Gautam from Auraiya, Ramesh Kumar Toofani from Lucknow, Narendra Singh Khajuri from Meerut, Tijaram from Azamgarh, Vinay Ram Gonda and Anita Gautam from Mau, Ramesh Chandra from Kanpur, Mithai Lal from Bhadohi, Umesh Katheria from Bareilly, Ajay Kari from Lucknow, Jitendra Kumar from Kaushambi and Anita Kamal from Ambedkar Nagar have been nominated as members of the commission.
After the Governor’s approval, a letter has been issued in this regard on Friday itself. RLD leader Narendra Khajuri has also been made a member of the SC-ST Commission. Narendra Khajuri is counted among the very close associates of Jayant Chaudhary. Let us tell you that Jayant Chaudhary’s party RLD is currently a part of the NDA and he himself is a minister in the central government.
