Riya Barde, who also uses the aliases Aarohi Barde and Banna Sheikh, was arrested by the Hill Line Police in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra for allegedly obtaining an Indian passport using fake documents.
Riya Barde, who is a Bangladeshi national, has been accused of staying in India illegally along with her mother and siblings. As per media reports, it is alleged that Riya Barde’s mother married a man from Amravati for this purpose.
Media reports also state that Riya Barde worked as an adult film actress. Currently, the police are on the lookout for her mother, sister, brother, and father in the case.

More About Riya Barde
Riya Barde’s mother, Ruby Shaikh, also a Bangladeshi national, married Arvind Barde, a man from Amravati. The mother identified herself as a resident of West Bengal. Ruby Shaikh later changed her name to Anjali, and the family began living illegally in India.
According to a report by Republic, Riya Barde’s parents currently reside in Qatar. The police are searching for her sister, Ritu, alias Moni Sheikh, and her brother, Riyaz Sheikh.
It has also been reported that Riya Barde worked in Raj Kundra’s production company. Apart from this, she has also appeared in several other movies. She has reportedly worked alongside performer Gehana Vasisth. Report also states that Riya Barde was previously arrested by the Mumbai Police in connection with a case related to prostitution under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

How Did The Incident Come To Light?
The entire incident became public when Riya Barde’s friend, Prashant Mishra, found out that she is originally from Bangladesh and living in India illegally. He lodged a complaint with the police, who then investigated her documents.

Sangram Malkar, the Police Sub-Inspector who led the investigation, said, “During the probe, we found that Riya’s mother, Anjali, is a Bangladeshi national living illegally in India with her two daughters, including Riya, and her son. Anjali married Arvind Barde, a resident of Amravati, while claiming to be from West Bengal. She later obtained an Indian passport using fake birth certificates and other fraudulent documents to establish her and her children’s Indian identity.”
The police also charged her family members – Anjali Barde (alias Ruby Shaikh), father Arvind Barde, brother Ravindra (alias Riyaz Sheikh), and sister Ritu (alias Moni Sheikh). A case has been registered against them under Sections 420, 465, 468, 479, 34, and 14A of the Indian Penal Code. Investigation into her connection with Mumbai-based pornography rackets are also ongoing.
