Katie Price’s adult panto ‘axed’ as she suffers another financial blow during bankruptcy

Former glamour model Katie Price was ready to show off her acting chops in a racy edition of a beloved pantomime show, but it appears the project has been pulled

Katie Price has suffered a major blow after her adult panto was pulled.

The model and businesswoman, 46, has been gearing up to perform in Aladdin The Adult Panto – a cheeky twist on the classic play – this month. However, after being brought onto the production earlier this year, the brakes have now been put on the show.

It was revealed back in July that Katie would be performing in the LHK Productions show Aladdin in the Joe Longthorne Theatre in Blackpool. Ahead of the show’s debut, ads for the play said that it was only for those aged over 18 – and would across this month during the weekends.

However, it now seems that the show will not be going ahead, with the panto being “quietly cancelled”, despite tickets having already gone on sale. According to The Sun, those who have bought to the show are being “left in the dark” about the reasonings why it was being pulled.

A source said: “The show has been quietly cancelled with no explanation. Fans aren’t sure whether it was down to poor ticket sales or another reason, but it’s all very strange.”

This will affect the Pricey’s diary, as she continues to work to pay back her £760k unpaid tax bill, which saw her be declared bankrupt for a second time. However, the source continued: “Katie is doing another panto now with her pal Kerry Katona though, so she won’t be out of pocket.”

Last month, it was revealed that pals Kerry and Katie would be taking to the stage together for a panto adaptation of the classic Cinderella story. The pair admitted that they would be spending every of the holiday together alongside their families – including Christmas Day itself.

However, while the pair will be getting up to no good on the show, which will run at the Northwich Memorial Court in Cheshire, they have objected to being dubbed as “ugly”. Instead, the duo are opting to go by the “wicked step-sisters” in a modern twist to the classic tale.

When asked why the pair were ditching the term “ugly”, Katie and Kerry, 44, confessed that it would be a lie to call themselves the term, adding that their aesthetics did not matter to their characters. Following the announcement of the panto, sales have skyrocketed for the venue, which organisers have pinned down to the dynamic duo.

The theatre announced: “Since our casting news broke earlier this evening, we have sold the highest number of tickets that we’ve ever sold in a single day during our last 14 years in Northwich!” Katie’s panto success comes after she was hauled to the High Court for her financial woes, despite having jetted off to Turkey in August for a facelift.
