Karva Chauth 2024 Vrat Katha

The most well-known story of Karva Chauth revolves around a queen named Veeravati. Once upon a time, Veeravati was the only sister of seven loving brothers. She was married to a handsome and noble king, and on her first Karva Chauth after marriage, she returned to her parental home to observe the fast. Being a young woman, she was unaccustomed to fasting and grew weak as the day progressed.

Her brothers, deeply concerned by her deteriorating condition, tried to convince her to eat, but Veeravati was determined to complete her fast for her husband’s longevity. As the day wore on and Veeravati grew weaker, her brothers devised a plan.

They climbed a tree and placed a mirror on one of its branches, reflecting the light of the sun. They convinced Veeravati that the moon had risen, allowing her to break her fast. Veeravati, believing them, broke her fast and ate.

However, no sooner had she eaten than she received the heartbreaking news that her husband, the king, had died. Devastated, Veeravati prayed to the goddess with immense sorrow and repentance. Moved by her devotion and guilt, the goddess granted her a boon to bring her husband back to life.

She was instructed to observe Karva Chauth fast with complete devotion once again, and this time, she did so without breaking it. Her husband’s life was restored, and they lived happily ever after. This story highlights the power of a wife’s devotion and the deep connection between faith and the well-being of a spouse.
