iPhone 17 Pro Buttons May Get Design Overhaul Over iPhone 16 Pro
The iPhone 16 series has recently gone on sale and leaks have already emerged for the next flagship model — the iPhone 17. While some specifications are not hard to guess depending on the trends that Apple has followed for the past few years, but some features and design makeovers come as a surprise. One of them is said to be the button design.
As per a leak from tipster Majin Bu, Apple is testing to replace the volume buttons and the Action Button with a new button on the iPhone 17 Pro. In short, a new button may replace these existing ones. While what exactly will it do is not determined yet, but tipster suggest that the new button may bring volume controls, an option for ringtone, and other customisable options just like the Action Button.
Recently, the iPhone 16 lineup, including the standard iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max have introduced a new button, Camera Control, dedicated to taking charge of the camera app and its settings. You can control the iPhone’s camera just like a DSLR with this Camera Control button. The rumoured new button replacing is the volume and Action button is still part of the leaks and rumours.
However, will this new button design see a ray of light? It is still unsure. Apple could still alter its plans before September 2025, and the new button might never be released.
iPhone 17 Pro: What Else To Expect?
Apart from this new button makeover, Apple is expected to bring a slimmer Dynamic Island due to the adoption of smaller “metalens” for the Face ID system, as some past leaks suggested. For photography, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is tipped to get an all-48MP tripled camera setup at the back for the first time. It must be noted that the current iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max get a 48MP main camera, 48MP ultra-wide, and a 12MP telephoto camera. Moreover, the iPhone 17 Pro models may also get a 24MP selfie camera for the first time, a major upgrade over the current 12MP camera on the front.
