Katie Price announces major family update after ‘acid attack’ at Mucky Mansion
Model and businesswoman Katie Price has brought another member into her family as she continues to fight against a number of issues, including bankruptcy and an acid attack
Katie Price has welcomed a new addition to her family as she “ups her security”.
The model and businesswoman, 46, has brought another member into her already large family, in an effort to keep herself safe. Mum-of-five Katie announced that she is to be hiring a new guard dog as a form of protection at her new home.
Price admitted that the reasoning for getting the new pup came after she was subject to an acid attack at her Mucky Mansion in Sussex. Criminals were able to get access to the house and her car was pelted with acid, causing damage to the vehicle and making it unstable.
This comes, however, after Katie sold the Mucky Mansion following her declaration of bankruptcy. As a result, Katie has now moved to a place “no one knows”, but is still keen to ensure her safety and has thus decided to take on the four-legged friend.
Speaking last week, she revealed that the dog is due to arrive on Monday (July 15), and will help her feel more safe in her own home, as well as keep her family secure. Recounting the acid attack that damaged her car, she explained: “I called the police and I said, ‘I know you’re saying there’s nothing you can do, but if I’d walked out in the middle of the night and I saw them putting acid on [the car], who’s to say they wouldn’t have thrown it at me?'”
She described the attack on her Mucky Mansion as a “threat” to her life and livelihood, in an interview with the Daily Mail. While she is investing in the new pooch, this may prove to be a bone of contention for some, after Katie was the subject of a campaign to have her banned from keeping animals.
After adopting a puppy in 2020 that tragically passed away, several other animals that Katie has brought into her care have had similar fates. This also includes a horse, as well as a “depressed” chameleon named Marvin.
The Pricey’s decision to get a new furry friend comes after she bravely opened up on her newfound fertility issues. She admitted that in the past year, she has resorted to IVF treatment on three separate occasions – all of which have failed.
Katie is already a proud mum-of-five, with Harvey – 22, Junior – 19, Princess – 17, Jett – 10 and Bunny – 9, all coming into her family. However, Katie has said that five kids is not enough and has been more than vocal about adding more to her clan.
Speaking on Michelle Visage’s podcast Rule Breakers last year, Katie explained that is going to “try again, try again”, proudly declaring: “I need more babies.” When asked by MailOnline how many children she would be content with, she admitted: “If I could have another two or three, I’d be happy.”
