Supermodel Paulina Porizkova has left her fans enamoured by her incredible physique in a stunning bikini snap while slamming cruel “ageist” trolls.
The trolls said that Paulina, who started modelling in the 1980s, looked like she was in “so much pain”.
Looking amazing in a chic swimwear snap while showing off her washboard abs, the 57-year-old supermodel slammed an “ageist” troll who commented on her appearance and age.
In the post she also aired her frustrations about the people who do so.
“Here’s a good follower comment- echoing a few others. A woman of 57 is “too old” to pose in a bikini – no matter what she looks like,” Paulina began in the caption.
“Because ‘Old’ is ‘Ugly’. I get comments like these every time I post a photo of my body.”
She added: “This is the ageist shaming that sets my teeth on edge. Older men are distinguished, older women are ugly.
“People who believe prettiness equals beauty do not understand beauty.
“Pretty is easy on the eyes, partly because it’s a little bland, inoffensive. It’s easy to take in and easy to forget.
“Not so beauty. Beauty can be sharp. It can wound you and leave a scar.
“To perceive beauty you have to be able to SEE.
“This is why I believe we get more beautiful with age. We have earned our beauty, we understand what it is, and we can see it so much better.”
She then concluded: “There is no such thing as ugly and old. Only shortsighted and ignorant.”
The comment that sparked it all was posted by an Instagram user and read: “You must be in so much pain to keep posting bikini pictures at your age.
“I’ve always thought that getting old and ugly is hardest on the pretty people. The fall from grace is so much farther than you were beautiful.
“I pray you can come to terms with your mortality. We all get old and ugly…you just had to fall from a greater height than the rest of us.”
Fans were quick to praise Paulina’s response, with many taking to the comments section.
One said: “Dang woman you are strong to repost that hateful fools post. I’m loving it. You have not fallen from anywhere. If that’s ugly I want to be ugly.”
Another added: “Gosh if you’re old and ugly it doesn’t leave much hope for us! I hope you’re enjoying your beauty and foxiness – and you’re still only 57!!!”
While a third penned: “You look better at 57 than I did at 17!”
