Arianny Celeste has become a huge star during her time at the UFC. And with a career spanning 16 years, we bring you some of her personal highlights, from calling out Ronda Rousey to auctioning her used bras

Arianny Celeste is one of the UFC’s most recognisable faces.

The model – understood to be the richest ring girl in the UFC with a net worth of £3.2million – has gone on to wow audiences with her shenanigans over the years. Having been with the company since 2006, she is an advocate for the profession of being a ring girl, while she has made a name for herself in other areas such as modelling – featuring for magazines such as Maxim, FHM, Sports Illustrated as well as Playboy, who she stripped off naked for.

During the 36-year-old’s extensive period in the sport, she has racked up a fair number of personal highlights. From going to war with Khabib Nurmagomedov over the validity of ring girls, to being caught flustered at the muscles of a flexing fighter at a weigh-in.

Daily Star Sport will now take you through the six-time Ringcard Girl of the Year winner’s personal highlights..

Khabib Nurmagomedov

Celeste had something to say after former UFC champion Nurmagomedov questioned the need for having ring girls in the sport.

Speaking to RT Today, the 33-year-old said: “Everybody has their own views on something. For example, a couple of months ago someone spoke about my own promotion, Eagle Fighting Championship (EFC), and asked why there are no ring girls there.

“I said it is because, in my opinion, there is no reason [for them]. “Some people don’t agree with this, but who cares? I don’t care because I have my opinion.”

But an engaged Celeste bit back at the comments made by the Russian. “For 15 years we have been more than just ring girls,” she wrote in a fiery Instagram post. “We have dedicated time in promoting ufc and showing love and time to our die-hard fans through touring the world and personal appearances. And while the world is very different right now, I can still feel that energy and love every time we have a show with an audience.”

Game features

Celeste got a digital remake in some UFC video games for EA Sports. The model featured as an Octagon girl in UFC Undisputed 2010, UFC Undisputed 3, EA Sports UFC, and EA Sports UFC 2.

Sadly, she was not a playable figure, however.

Playboy

Celeste posed nude for the November 2010 issue of Playboy, and it was one of the publication’s best-selling issues of that year.

She spoke highly of the experience. “Definitely very positive, it opened a lot of doors, and I’m very proud of it; I think it came out beautiful,” Celeste told TV presenter Karyn Bryant “It’s definitely very nerve-wracking, but once you get on there the crew is so professional and so nice they make you feel very comfortable. But it took years to decide to do it.”

Alistair Overeem

Celeste could not keep her eyes off Alistair Overeem when he took to the podium for a weigh-in ahead of his UFC 141 fight with Brock Lesnar in 2011.

On the stage behind the Dutchman, her reaction to the heavyweight flexing went viral.

Ronda Rousey

Then-women bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey got into a war of words with Celeste, who called her a ‘big bully’.

The argument was again about the validity of ring girls. After being accused of being a bully, Rousey spat: “What did I say that I was a bully? That the fighters should get paid more than the ring girls? How does that make me a bully? That makes me f**** right. “I’m sorry, but she wouldn’t have a job if it wasn’t for the fighters. She wouldn’t.’’

But Celeste had the last laugh. “I’m not going to talk about her because I’m not a fighter,” Celeste told MMAJunkie.com. “I’m not going to waste my time. I actually don’t talk about anyone. It blows my mind that someone who doesn’t even know me continuously picks on me. “

Sports bra auction

Celeste helped raise money by selling sports bras worn by women in the MMA. Rousey, Celeste and several others were all included.

As well as the used attire, each bra had an autograph with it. The proceeds went to the Keep A Breast Foundation.
